A bit on the land of light
The main setting of WOI is the land of light. The land of light is a large island surrounded by unscalable walls. The land of light is divided into three different divisions. The divisions are the hilly, forest, and lake divisions. Each division is named after the geography of the area. The hilly division contains mountains and rough terrain. The forest division encompasses the entirety of the sunlight forest, a forest taking up a third of the land. The lake division has 10 different lakes all with an assortment of fish. Each division is exploited in order to benefit the inhabitants of the land of light.
The most unique
aspect to the land of light is the day night cycle. The land is swarming with
small bug like creatures called “Llumi”. These bugs eat a thick fog that
covers the land of light. When eating the fog, the Llumi become illuminated and
bring light. The millions of Llumi swarm the skies and after some time light up
the entirety of the land of light. After 12 hours the Llumi begin descending
to the trees of the land and the fog shrouds the land again. After another 12
hours the Llumi begin the process again. This is the day night cycle of the
land of light. I will elaborate more on the Llumi in a future post.
The land of light has a unique cast of inhabitants. The inhabitants are separated into 6 different groups. The Sehest are a group that resemble lizards. Ursas are a group that resembles bears. Whicks are a group that resemble birds of prey. Sirius are a group that resemble canines. Erclaw are a group that resemble insectivores. Finally, Turterguards are a group that resemble turtles & tortoises. Each type of inhabitant has their own unique advantages and disadvantages. Together they try to cover their disadvantages.
The land of light can be a vicious land. The land is home to many wildlife some peaceful, others defensive, and more are aggressive. Yet, they are nothing compared to the creatures of Eclipse. Creatures of nightmares, the Eclipse devour any organic life they come into contact with. The Eclipse enter the land through a portal in the hilly division at ten-day intervals ready to hunt. The inhabitants fight in a united front against the creatures in order to protect themselves and save the land of light.
I am not an artist, so I cannot illustrate the Land of Light. However, I do play Minecraft. Currently I am working on a replica of the Land of Light built in Minecraft. The replica will showcase all the features of the Land of Light listed and much more. I will regularly give updates on the map and post images (3 images of areas of the land of light are below).
